It's here. My new comic "Frolic" is officially online as of today. You can read the first 5 pages here, on the site. I'm actually surprisingly nervous about the launch, haha. I hope all of you enjoy it.

Everything you make is GOLD! Luv'n it! Waiting for the updates for your comics is like waiting for Sword Art Online to update(meaning I'm checking frequently even though I know its not the right day).

I do like the contrast that it has, it being in what appears to be a cave of some sort. Though i was expecting it to be more pink from the pre-launch pages you had up. I am definitly curious about this "Serpentine" character. Kinda like a creepy, living, sock puppet.

Keep up the good work!

The pink threw me off a little, considering that this is so dark XD

but I like it!~ You must teach me how to put comics together one day

Wow yeah, it IS dark, I hope the contrast isn't too much >o< I was actually kinda worried about that when I put this one together. Well, hopefully it at least conveys the right feeling for the picture. And sure, I'd love to help in any way I can. I'm having an extra-special fun time on Frolic. I'm trying so many new things, especially when it comes to actually putting the comic together~

It creats a feeling for sure xD Just, when I clicked on the link, pink was the last thing I expected to see.

Yay~ I've been wanting to create something short and cute but I really have no idea where to start.. e _ e;;;

I suppose the most important place to start with any story, no matter how you end up doing it, is to come up with nice, well thought-out characters. They can make or break the story. They ARE the story. Because when you tell a story, all you're really doing is taking characters you've come up with, putting them together and watching them as they interact. With the best kind of characters, the story almost tells itself because you can already imagine what they'll say or do.

That's a good first step.. though I kind of find it hard to come up with characters without some sort of storyline..;

I usually start with a concept, or theme. I try to keep the idea simple. You really don't want too much of a point-by-point story in place before you have any characters. So something like "Guy has to save girlfriend from monster, but his girlfriend is actually in love with the monster and the whole journey is a trap to get him killed." is about as much as I need to get started. At that point I just start to explore the idea with a bunch of logical questions. As a result I end up developing things like his background, friends and family, and all that. Of course you should always allow yourself enough time to come up with whatever you think feels best for that concept. Tite Kubo first got the idea for Bleach when he decided he wanted to draw his personal interpretation of japanese death angels, and everything else kinda grew out of that. It's that first idea. Maybe it's for a particular scene, or character, or just a new spin on something ordinary that you really like. For me it helps to start by thinking big and sorta vaguely, and then chip away at the idea until I've got something I REALLY like.

Not a problem. Feel free to drop me a line whenever you have questions about it. I'm no expert, but I'd be happy to share some of what's worked for me.
