I got the idea for drawing my own little slightly altered version of Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) and in doing research on the character, I became quite fascinated with her. Just the concept of a person doing something as extreme as donning the Bat-title, purely out of conviction is worth looking into, since for most people, conviction merely means putting a slip of paper into the "right" box. Being the kind of superhero a city like Gotham needs is no small job, even for Batman. If you really stop to think about what it means for someone to just up and do what Batman does (much less manage to hide it from her father the Police Commissioner), someone like Barbara Gordon becomes even more fascinating. So yeah, I really like her.

She looks awesome. The way you described her makes her even more badass than I previously thought.

Yeah man, there's a surprising amount of depth to her character as it turns out. I'd love to see a really, really good writer explore like an alternative story that focuses on her in a serious way. Maybe even rewrite some DC history.

She's seems to be far beyond a sidekick!

Yeah man, she was created as much more of counterpart to Batman than people normally think. Back when they introduced her into the comic universe, a promotional for her comics even had her arguing with Batman over who's sidekick Robin should be. She was quite capable of managing her own crime-fighting legacy, which seems to have been the initial goal of the character.

Nice picture! Perhaps you should do a 'Rise / Fall' image for Barbra, like your personal artistic idea of her donning the cowl and then her subsequent crippling by The Joker.

That is a good idea, I'd definitely love to explore the artistic possibilities there!

Could make a moving piece, if you ask me. I'd draw it, if I could draw. :p I'd also likely make one for the many possible origins of the Joker, ending with his death at the hands of Robin. The uncensored version.

"That's... That's not funny..."

God that actually sounds like fun in a weird way. I've actually been thumbing through a copy of the DC characters encyclopedia, and I'm actually itching now do more Batman characters in particular. There's lots of cool underrated villains in the DC universe too. So many possibilities..!

And then I'd draw one of my man, the Riddler. Favorite villain ever. I mean, come on. I just love him. Seriously.
